Summary of the Professional Seminar
This presentation describes the characteristics and testing results of a Yttrium-90 brachytherapy product with the trade names IsoPet® for animal therapy and RadioGelTM for human therapy. Results will be discussed from treatments of feline sarcomas at Washington State University and canine soft tissue sarcomas at the University of Missouri. The product testing program is ongoing at a prominent university veterinarian center and is being expanded to treat a number of tumors in cats, dogs and horses. IsoPet® is on the verge of being commercially available for treating cancer in pets at a local clinic in Kennewick WA.
The keynote speaker at this ANS-EWS dinner is Mike Korenko.
Mike Korenko is currently the President and CEO of Vivos Inc. They are focused on IsoPet/RadioGel, a brachytherapy product to treat solid tumors in animals and humans. He has been a member of the Hanford Advisory Board for the last ten years. At Hanford he was the Westinghouse VP in charge of the 300 and 400 areas including FFTF, plus all the engineering, safety analysis, and projects for the entire site. He was also the EVP of Closure for Safe Sites of Colorado at Rocky Flats. Recently he was Chief Operating Officer for Curtiss-Wright EMD. They produce the nuclear components for all the US submarine and aircraft carriers as well as components for commercial nuclear power.
He has a Doctor of Science from MIT and was a NATO Postdoctoral Fellow at Oxford University. He was selected as a White House Fellow for the Department of Defense reporting to Secretary Cap Weinberger. He has 28 patents and has received many awards including the National Energy Resources Organization Research and Development Award, Nez Perce Tribal Award, U.S. Steelworkers award for excellence in promoting safety, and the Westinghouse Total Quality Award for Performance Manager of the Year.
